If you'd never consider it in a million years, then it seems to me that the only reason that you're even considering it a little now is because you're still in shock of what happened or maybe because it would be easier to just give up on it and get a different car. Don't make any decisions in your current state of mind... give it a few days at least to clear your head so you can make a decision you can live with. Sounds to me like you have a deep passion for the Z, and that's not something that you should just let go of, IMHO. Last bit of advice: good tires and traction control! I've seen people losing their rear ends time and time again on this forum (myself included, pre-traction control).
